Shotley Fun Day 2019

Fun Day For All Ages

Four generations of Shotley villagers took advantage of the fine weather at a Fun Day organised by Shotley Rose football and bowls clubs.

Pirates, princesses, police (real and make-belief) and a fire crew were on hand to interest the hundreds of visitors of all ages, who took part the Tug o War, dog show, egg & spoon and sack races, archery, along with many other games of skill and chance.

Traders at sales and car boots sold their wares, and services, while the tractor and pony rides were popular with children, along with the various bouncy castle options. A number of groups raffled prizes and the bottle Tombola went well once more.

Main organiser Paul Adams was here there and everywhere, with many of the footballers and bowls players, helping a hand at many stalls. Singer/presenter James Nunn, who has a single out right now, kept everyone informed about lost purses, phones and people, while playing good music.

Refreshments were served by Sarah from the Rose, while Mike, Pauline, Heather and Glyn, kept everyone efed with burgees and hot dogs.

The weather kept fair and the feedback was extreme positive for this popular annual event, with organisers thanking everyone for their support.
