You Tubers Film Secret Look Inside Ganges

Monday, January 2020

Two unauthorised videos chronicling a contemporary look inside abandoned buildings on the former HMS Ganges site.

The first takes a tour inside the old Olympic-size swimming pool and then to the 19th century fort and battery, which has recently undergone archaeological investigation.

Running commentary is provided by the You Tube film maker Beyond the Point, although not entirely accurate at times.

The second shows  woman exploring abandoned buildings on the site, which is earmarked for development but that is mainly set to music.

Both parties were trespassing as the site is out of bounds for safety reason and both made sure they could not be easily identified.

Development Moves a Step Closer

January 2019
The development at Ganges has taken another step closer after key conditions were discharged.
This includes, street lighting, ecological reports and the Construction management plan for phase one.

Archaeological work continues, and while some interesting items have been found, there has been nothing of historical significance reported so far.
There are still a few conditions to be discharged before the spine road, which will mark the beginning of homes being built, and that is the only reason for the delay.
